Zitat von Matthias Horner Beitrag anzeigenNo, because they are only legal if the was modified before 2004.
Unmodified the are illegal
Modified to what? How would they have to be modified? It is just a basic semi-automatic rifle with a 10 round magazine, there's nothing unusual about it.

to be a little more precise:
Illegal, because it´s got an "assault-rifle-look", which is assumed to be pure evil by our politicians. Newer models (2004 and on) may look like AR, if their basic parts like barrel, bolt, receiver are non-interchangeable with the original service model (introduced after 1945, e.g. G3, M14, AR15, AK74). Other restrictions apply, whether if you are hunter or sport shooter (barrel length >16´´, cartridge lenght >40mm for sporters).
The MAS 1949, 1949/56 as a semiautomatic assault rifle is namely listed on the "Gesetz über die Kontrolle von Kriegswaffen,
Erläuterungen zur Kriegswaffenliste, no. 29". This means: forbidden.
Up to 2003 originals, like M14 and copys, were legal, if following modifications were made:
- no full auto
- max 5rd magazine
- no flash hider
- no bayonet nut
- no interchangeable parts with full auto systems
- did I forget something?
If you have the chance of getting a pre-2004-modified MAS (german "Beschusszeichen" 2003 or older should proof that), it is probably legal. As long as you don´t touch the modifications (doing so would be a major crime..., no joke).Zuletzt geändert von Schopy; 03.11.2013, 10:39.
